ONE-HUNDRED AND THREE years ago, on January 13, 1913, 22 courageous collegiate women on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C., set forth on a mission to be the CHANGE they wanted to see in their campus, in their community and the world. Since that fateful day, more than 200,000 women around the world have carried the torch of wisdom with humility and perseverance in the name of Delta Sigma Theta to fulfill the vision of our 22 illustrious founders.
The Louisville Alumnae Chapter (LAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered in Louisville, Kentucky in April 1933, and has grown to be the largest chapter of Delta Sigma Theta in the state of Kentucky.
LAC is committed to engaging the Louisville community by developing and executing meaningful outreach and programs centered on Delta's Five Point Programmatic Thrust including Educational Development, Economic Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and International Awareness and Involvement.
Some of LAC's most unique and notable programs are the Annual Delta Day at the Races scholarship fundraiser, Delta Academy mentoring program, and Jabberwock, a biennial cotillion that showcases the gifts and talents of young ladies in the community.
